I have removed metal support . The ‘sleeve' design makes putting it on much easier than a wrap around. I ordered two so always have a clean one - they are easy to wash and dry. I will definitely buy again.

Wow, absolutely loving it, I was surprised just how effective it is right out of box, I'm able to garden and use tools all day again and not spend the next few days cursing about thumb pain. Think this brace will be a game changer for me.
I have been having a lot of trouble with a twisted pelvis that is pinching the sciatica nerve so I purchased this belt to help stabilise my hips and although I still have pain, most of the nerve pain has alleviated! Very happy with the improvement and recommend giving this a try
